Historical Information

Introduced in 2004. Primarily used by the government of Chechnya. The flag is composed of three horizontal bars. From top to bottom: green, representing Islam; white and red. A narrow hvertical white band at the hoist contains the national ornament, a design of four golden scrolls. The horizontal bars are in the proportions 4:1:3.
